Mash Style: Extract
Brew Style: Maibock/Helles Bock
Ingredients for 5 gallons (19 L):
- 11 Pale Malt, pounds extract
- 1 Perle Hops, oz
- 1 Hallertau Hops, oz
- 1.25 Caramunich (40L) Malt
- 1.25 Munich Malt
- 1.5 Zeus Hops, 1oz - 0 min, .5 oz 30 min
- 1 English Ale Yeast, liquid wyest 2487 hella bock
Instructions:
Partial extract - put 2.5 lbs malt into 2.5 L water at ~175F water, and let steep for 1 hour. Then filter and sparge the grains with another 4-6L (~1.5gal to bring total boil volume up to your capacity. Then boil with bittering hops for 1 hour, add 1/2 oz each of perle and saaz at 40 minutes and then again at 60 for flavor and aroma. Then chill and put in the primary fermenter, and then lager.
OG: 1.08
FG: 1.016
Percent Alcohol: 8.67%
